The landmark Louisa Hotel has been a fixture at Seventh Ave. and King Street for more than a century. Through the years its image has been clouded by tragedy and fire. But the recent discovery of murals depicting Seattle's early jazz scene has breathed new life into the historic hotel in the Chinatown-International District. And renovation work will soon return the Louisa to its former glory, with retail shops at street level and four floors of new apartments. Shannon Gee reports.
