CityStream: Seattle’s Common Power Works to Engage Voters
10/27/20206:22
Corey Prince is determined to make a difference. The former felon now spends time driving people to the polls in Racine, Wisconsin, and encourages others to register and vote. Working alongside Corey are volunteers from Seattle who are part of the civic action group, Common Power. Led by UW professor David Domke, the group's mission is to engage voters and develop young leaders, specifically in low-income areas and communities of color. Common Power has now reached an estimated 900,000 voters in 23 states. And as Mimi Gan reports, its mission is far from over.
